Police wait for Pathologists
Assistant Commissioner Police Crime, Nasir Ali confirms they are currently questioning a suspect in relation to the death.
The body is said to be that of 26 year old Ashika Lata Mc Cartney, who went missing soon after she arrived into the country from Australia last month.
Ali refused to confirm whether the suspect is related to the deceased.
Body was found by a farmer yesterday morning and he then informed police. Police have not ruled out foul play. Charges are expected to be laid on the suspect once police receive post mortem results.
Meanwhile, the Police search and rescue team is still searching for a fisherman near the Vomo Island Resort who fell overboard last night due to heavy rain and rough seas.
Police confirm that Krishna Sami went fishing accompanied by 42 year old, Krishna Sami Gounder and 30 year old Hari Krishna Naidu both of Saweni Lautoka in a wooden boat.
According to Police, the victim was standing on the cabin lowering the anchor rope when he suddenly disappeared. His companions searched for him but could not find him. The Matter was reported to police this morning.
