Police in Suva have received a number of reports in relation to unlawful use of motor vehicles.
These are cases where taxi drivers are hired, taken to isolated spots and robbed.
Assistant Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Atunaisa Sokomuri said a taxi driver was assaulted and robbed of his days income in Wailoku by a group of men last night. The men than fled in the taxi.
Similar cases have been reported from Makoi and Nepani.
Police are urging taxi drivers to be extra careful while operating in the night.
