As Fiji tries to attract more and more tourists the Fiji Tourism Police Unit is now advising cruise liner tourist of safety tips to be followed before visiting Suva.
 
Working in conjunction with Tourism Fiji, the Tourist Police's ultimate objective is to ensure that tourist are safe and they enjoy their visit in Fiji.

Tourists are advised to board taxis that are available at the Suva Harbour as drivers are easily identified in cases of emergency.

They are also reminded that taxis in Fiji are operated with taxi meters and to ensure that the meter is turned on as most drivers tend to overcharge foreign passengers.
 
Police have also reminded tourists not to leave their valuable items in the taxi and to tender correct change while shopping around Suva city.
