Police are now trying to establish the origin of the 1kg of cocaine which was found at the Suva wharf on Sunday.

Assistant Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said officers from the drug unit are also trying to establish whether the cocaine was to be used in Fiji or Fiji was being used as a transit point.

He said so far only two people have been questioned and released.

The cocaine was discovered inside a ship that was berthed at the Suva wharf after a crew member alerted police.

It is believed to have an estimated street value of close to three million dollars.

Meanwhile, police have charged four people for allegedly being  in possession of close to 6kg of dried leafs confirmed to be marijuana.

The four were arrested from Nausori and police recovered the dried leaves worth more than $40,000 from their possession.

They are expected to appear in the Nausori Magistrates court tomorrow.
