The Fiji Police Traffic Department will be working tirelessly this festive season with an aim to prevent road accidents during the time when most people travel to their villagers to meet their loved ones.
Director Traffic ASP Mahesh Mishra said Police Officers will not be able to deliver this result alone and they need support from motorists as well as the pedestrians.
Mishra confirmed they will be receiving new radars soon which are programmed to detect the speed of five vehicles at a time.
He added this new technology will help them in apprehending those who are planning to break road rules during the upcoming festive season.
The road death toll currently stands at 37 compared to 48 for the same period last year.
