Police are expected to visit another two schools in Suva and speak to the principals after they received a report of a group of students threatening to punch up a student from another school.

The incident occurred at the Suva Bus Stand yesterday afternoon and a student alerted officers at the Market Police Post.

Senior officers are expected to visit the schools soon.

However, police said despite numerous warnings, some students still have not truly understood that there are serious consequences if they assault someone.

Police Commissioner Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua has issued a stern warning to students that anyone breaking the law will be taken to task.

He personally visited Marist Brothers High School and Suva Grammar School yesterday after the involvement of some students in the recent brawls.

Police are also trying to establish the alleged involvement of an ex-scholar in the incident where some items were thrown into a school bus at Flagstaff on Monday.

Spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said students should not be loitering around town and head straight home after school.

He confirmed that they are investigating the brawl at Service Street and Sukuna Park last Friday, the attack on the school bus at Flagstaff on Monday and an incident of an assault case on the Head Boy of one of the schools on Saturday night.
