That is the word from police Assistant Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri who said that this one strategy they are adopting to ensure that young people are not allowed into nightclubs and bars.
This comes after Fijivillage noticed that many youth as young as 16 years are being allowed into clubs and being served alcoholic drinks.
Inspector Sokomuri said they will be working closely with night club owners and bar owners to ensure that young people are not allowed into the night spots.
Sokomuri said they are holding continuous meetings with the bar owners as well as the bouncers stressing to them the conditions of their operating license which also has a section clearly stating that no one below the age of 18 years are allowed into the clubs.
Sokomuri said that at the end of the day, the job is with the club bouncers who are the ones that should be diligent when allowing patrons in.
