Police are tightlipped on the number of officers from the Special Branch team, who have been sent home pending investigations.

Police Spokeswoman, Ema Mua when contacted revealed that a special taskforce set up by the Commissioner of Police, Commodore Esala Teleni is conducting the investigations.

These officers have been sent home following allegations that they paid some church ministers to provide information to the Qarase government.

Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama revealed earlier this month that a number of Methodist Church ministers were being paid by the Fiji Police Special Branch to spy for the government.
