Police have reminded nightclub patrons to be careful whom they associate with at parties and to keep their drinks guarded at all times.
This call has come after recent raids by the Police Drug Unit have resulted in the seizure of the Date Rape Drug.
Many warnings have been issued earlier about the drug used by some people in nightclubs.
This involved certain people who have access to the drug, slipping the drug into unattended drinks of women and then taking the women and raping them.
Police spokesperson, Fred Elbourne said they believe the drug has been used on people who are unaware and who misinterpret its effects with that of a simple blackout from binge drinking.
Elbourne said the raids and the seizure of the Date Rape Drug confirmed that this is a real issue and people need to be aware of this.
