Police are seeking help from the members of the public in identifying the body of a middle aged man whose body was found floating in the Saunaka River, Nadi, on Tuesday morning.

Deputy Divisional Crime Officer Western ASP Waisea Kadawa confirmed two women who were walking by the river spotted the body and reported the matter to police.

Police have also not ruled out foul play as the body also has some visible injuries.

The body was partially decomposed when recovered from the river.

Kadawa said the man was wearing a gold earring on his right ear and a rubber band on his right leg.

Police said they have not received any report of missing persons in the western division.
