Police roles in society becoming more complex
That was highlighted by the Special Adminstrator Labasa, Savusavu, Vijay Chand during the Police Remembrance Day this morning in Labasa.
Chand said the past years have been a testing time for all of us in Fiji where men and women of the Force had to work under some very trying circumstances, which has caused a lot of miseries to the Police Officers and their families.
Chand said the government of the day places a great significance on the safety of our citizens and the protection of property, yet we are here to assist by ensuring that our country is a safe place to conduct business.
In Labasa today, family members of the fallen comrades remembered three members of the Police Force who died in the course of their duty in the past 12 months.
They are Acting Corporal Ravi Kant, Police Constable Isireli Driso and ASP Mosese Nagatalevu.
