The Sukuna Bowl defending champions, Police have lived up to their expectation and have retained the title again by beating Army 14-11 at the TFL stadium this afternoon.

This is the 24th victory for the Police side and they have won the prestigious Tanoa for five years in a row now.

The Police rugby team has been confident from the beginning and lived up to their expectation as they beat their colleagues 14 - 11 in the Ratu Sukana Bowl clash in front of a packed TFL Stadium this afternoon.

Army took an early lead from a penalty kick and Police were quick to respond scoring a try to Sairusi Kade.

A penalty to Army a few minutes later saw their confidence pick up and the boys from QEB scored their first try mid way through the first spell to take an 11 - 8 lead.

However, lack of discipline in their own half cost the Army side as they gave away another penalty allowing Police to equalize heading into the breather.  Army had another chance to grab the lead at the stroke of half time however Iliavi Satala missed the kick and the teams were locked 11 all at half time.

In the second half, Police came out firing and took the lead again from a drop goal. But it’s the Army boys who are launching attack after attack at the police try line only to be denied by the scrambling Police defence.

The Man of the Match went to Amani Bosenawai, the flyhalf for Police.
