All religious gatherings by the Fiji Police Force has been put on hold by the Acting Commissioner of Police since taking up office on Wednesday.
In a press conference this afternoon, Joeli Baleilevuka said he met with his senior officers yesterday where they decided to put on hold all the church services and church parades which used to take place in the past.
He said a decision will be made next week whether or not these gatherings will be included in police programs in future.
According to Baleilevuka, every member of the Fiji Police Force has personal rights to make their own decisions when it comes to religious gatherings.
