The Fiji Police Force Traffic Department will receive ten new breathalyzer machines from Australia next week which will be dispatched to various divisions in Fiji.

The breathalyzer machines have primarily been brought in for the festive season whereby Police Traffic Officers will be carrying out numerous operations around the country.

The ten breathalyzer machines will cost $20,000.

Meanwhile, the Police Traffic Department has revealed that for the first time, zero road fatality was recorded for two months this year.

There were no road fatalities last month and in June.

The road death toll for this year so far stands at 38 compared to 63 for the same period last year.
