Police have received the post-mortem result of 26 year old Ashika Lata McCartney whose body was found in Deuba last week Friday.
Director CID, Waisea Vakamocea confirms McCartney died from asphyxiation due to strangulation.
Vakamocea said they are treating this matter as murder and have already taken one man into custody and are interviewing him.
He confirms McCartney's body was found floating in a pond in Deuba.
McCartney was reported missing soon after she arrived in the country from Australia last month.
