Police last night raided a massage parlour in Suva on allegations that it was operating without a license and was being used as a front to operate a brothel.

Fijivillage News was at the scene last night when police officers locked the occupants inside the premises and called for backup.

The Officer in charge at the scene told Fijivillage that they received a complaint against the owner of the massage parlour alleging that it was operating without a license.

The Office also alleged that upon inspecting the premises, they suspect the girls working at the massage parlour are involved in prostitution. A Police Mobile Unit arrived and took six girls and the owner to the Central Police station for questioning.

The owner of the building was also at the scene and claimed he was unaware that the massage parlour was allegedly operating without a license.

Police Assistant Director Operations SP Erami Raibe said he is looking into the matter before making any comments.
