Police are still questioning a security officer and two other suspects who allegedly stole five cartons of cigarettes from a retail outlet at the Nadi International Airport on Wednesday.

According to Police, $10,000 worth of cigarettes were allegedly taken out of the shop by two employees in the presence of a customs officer on Wednesday night. Both employees and the customs officer were taken into custody for questioning.

Director CID, Waisea Vakamocea the suspects are still being questioned and are expected to be charged soon.

Police believe there was an alleged racket where items were stolen from retail outlets by Employees and removed from the Airport premises with the assistance of Customs Officers.

The three suspects are expected to appear in a special court sitting in Lautoka tomorrow if police are able to lay charges against them.
