Come prepared to my court and do not waste the court's time.

Those were the words of Suva Magistrate Alofa Seruvatu as she was annoyed that a Police Prosecutor did not have a copy of the new Crimes Decree and Criminal Procedure Decree during a case this morning.

When the Police Prosecutor was asked under what section of the Decree the charges in the case can be amended, the prosecutor could not answer as he started looking through the DPP lawyer's copy of the Decree who was sitting beside him but he could not find the answer.

After waiting for a few minutes Magistrate Seruvatu then told the Prosecutor that section 182 of the decree deals with amending charges and he should write it down and remember it.

It has been confirmed that not all police prosecutors have copies of the new Crimes Decree and Criminal Procedure Decree.
