A senior police officer has been charged while another is being investigated for allegedly stealing money confiscated as evidence in various cases.
A Police Sergeant based in the Southern Division has been charged with one count of larceny by servant after allegations that he stole more than $1,000 from the exhibit room.
He will appear in the Suva Magistrates court next month.
Meanwhile, a Constable based in the Sigatoka Police station is being investigated for allegedly stealing more than $6,000 from the exhibit room.
The exhibit money was kept at the Sigatoka Police Station as part of investigations when he constable allegedly used the money.
He is expected to be charged soon.
