A 50 year old police officer is proud today to save a life when he assisted a woman deliver her baby by the road side in Naboutini, Serua last night.
Inspector Emosi Veikoso who is a nurse was part of a group of Police officers returning from the Western Division.
While returning to Suva from Nadi the group was stopped by a couple by the roadside as the 30yr old woman was experiencing labor pains.
The nearest hospital was Navua Hospital, however, due to the progress in labor, Inspector Veikoso had to assist the 30yr old mother of Naboutini deliver her 3rd child in the police van.
According to Inspector Veikoso, both mother and child are in stable condition, as they were transferred to Navua Hospital.
