Police have managed to arrest the second man who allegedly murdered 49 year old security officer Sheik Mohammed Hassan in Naqere, Savusavu, on Sunday night.

The man who was arrested in Savusavu is currently being interrogated by Savusavu police.

Police also managed to recover some items and cash from him, which was robbed from the owner of the sawmill.

Meanwhile, the other man who was arrested in Viti Levu for the alleged incident is expected to be sent to Labasa.

Crime officers from Labasa said the two face charges of murder and robbery with violence.

Police continue to hunt for the third suspect.

Sheik Hassan was guarding the sawmill premises when three masked men broke in and allegedly assaulted him after tying him up.

The men then went inside the house of the sawmill owner who is a Korean national and also tied him up.

They then fled with more than $14,000 cash.
