Police are hunting for people who are allegedly involved in the printing and distributing fake notes.

Assistant police spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the fake notes that were discovered recently had different serial numbers on it.

He added the recent fake notes have been found between Lautoka and Rakiraki.

He said police are looking for the driver of a silver grey Toyota Camry vehicle who is alleged to be purchasing items using fake notes.

The driver gave $110 to a bowzer attendant on Wednesday and the denominations included all $10 which were counterfeit.

Sokomuri said the attendant could not see the registration of the vehicle however could only notice that it was a silver grey Toyota Camry.

Meanwhile, a $10 fake note was found by a cashier at a supermarket in Rakiraki on Friday.

Police have called on businessmen and people doing their shopping to be wary of counterfeit notes.
