Police are looking for the owners of an Educational Institute based in Waimanu Road which closed its operations without informing the students.

Assistant Spokesperson Sergeant Suliano Tevita had confirmed that 13 students, who paid more than $1000 each for this year, lodged a report that the school did not open this year despite them paying the fees.

The Institute was closed for the Christmas break last year and did not open since then.

No student has been informed by the school about the closure.

Some concerned students told Fijivillage that around 20 students have paid $1,200 each through their FNPF to the institute for certificate level course and were told that classes would begin on the 4th of January.

However, when students went for classes, the school was closed.

The students said they tried to contact the Director of the institute and lecturers but their phones were switched off.

None of the institute staff could be reached for comments.
