Police in the Suva area are keeping a close watch on the opening of nightclubs and the operations of black markets.
Divisional Police Commander Southern, SP Ponsami Chetty said that special teams have been formed to take those nightclub operators to task who operate nightclubs after hours.
The official opening hours for nightclub operators are till 1am from Monday to Friday and 12am on Sunday morning. The nightclub should be closed on Sunday night.
SP Chetty has also confirmed that they met with the nightclub operators to warn them on breaching of the liquor laws.
Meanwhile, he has also confirmed that constant patrolling is done to ensure that no one operates black markets and those found doing so will be taken to task.
