Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 1 year 7 month old baby who was found dead by her father at their home in Davuilevu Housing yesterday.
The Divisional Crime Officer Eastern ASP Arthur White has confirmed that the baby was breastfed by her 34 year old mother and left on the couch soon after.
The father discovered the child motionless after the mother had gone to work.
While, police are awaiting the post mortem report and are calling on mothers to burp their babies after breastfeeding.
