Police are now awaiting the medical report of a 17 year old girl who allegedly gave birth to a baby which was found dead in a pit toilet last week.
Regional Crime Officer Eastern, ASP Aca White confirmed they have questioned and released the 17 year old girl and they are now waiting for the medical report before making a decision on their next step.
The incident happened at a village in Noco, Rewa and the matter was reported to the police when the 17 year old girl went for treatment at the Wainibokasi hospital.
Post mortem reveals that the baby died as a result of drowning.
Meanwhile, Police are expected to question some people soon in relation to the 15 month old baby who died in a house fire at Mead road last week.
Assistant Police Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said they are waiting for the cause of the fire to be established after which the deceased's family members will be questioned.
Three boys and the 15 month old girl were inside the house when the fire started.
According to Police the father was at a neighbor=s place while the mother was outside the house.
