Police interrogate Ballu Khan
Deputy Police Commissioner SSP Eroni Antonio confirmed to Village News that Khan is still being interviewed, however, they have considered his medical condition and may suspend the interview until tomorrow.
Antonio said police will not comment at this stage on when they expect to lay charges against Khan. He also said while police investigations against others believed to be involved in the alleged plot continues, detectives have been told to focus their attention on Khan to ensure charges are laid.
It has also been confirmed that Khan will be remanded in police custody tonight, however, police are tightlipped on where he will be detained.
Khan was discharged from CWM Hospital at 11 this morning and was escorted by police to the CID Headquarters. Khan was not in a condition to walk and thus was carried by two police officers from the Paying Ward at the hospital into a police vehicle. While in the vehicle, Khan was handcuffed. Khan refused to make any comments.
Khan's lawyer Tevita Fa said the medical report that he received stated that Ballu Khan should be taken overseas for medical treatment.
Speaking to reporters outside the CID Headquarters after visiting Khan who is in police custody, Fa said Khan still has injuries although he can talk.
