Police look good to claim their first ever Fiji Bitter Marist 7's title after an impressive 29-7 win over Waimanu in the second cup elimination this morning.

Laced with National reps Samisoni Viriviri, Ulaiyasi Lawavou and Manueli Laqai, Police proved too strong scoring six tries and have qualified for the cup quarters.

In other elimination matches this morning, defending champions Army Green defeated Marist One 10-0, Redrock lost 29-0 to Wardens Gold, Setefano Cakau's Tabadamu side beat the Hideaway Hurricanes 14-12, Nasolo Young Boys lost 12-5 to Lomaiviti Barbarians, Yamacia defeated Wardens Green 25-0 and Tale Barbarians beat Natabua Gold 13-10.

The cup quarterfinals are scheduled to start at 12.15pm and you can catch the live commentaries of the cup quarters, cup semifinals and cup final on our sister station, Viti FM.  

Meanwhile, five overseas based players are expected to be in the final 15 member Fiji 7's team for the Rugby World Cup.

The 15 member team list was sent to the IRB last night.

Fijivillage understands Metuisela Talebula, Vereniki Goneva, Timoci Matanavou, Waisea Nayacalevu and Watisoni Votu are likely to be part of the team.
