Police are expected to lay charges against a 25 year old businessman of Nadi who was allegedly involved in a hit and run fatal accident in Namaka Nadi early Saturday morning.
A 22-year-old man of Namaka Nadi died instantly and it is alleged that the businessman fled the scene after the accident.
A group of people who were at the scene during the accident informed police and the suspect was arrested in Nadi town around 3am on Saturday morning.
He has been in custody since then.
The road death toll is now 21 compared 11 during the same period last year.
