A planned robbery by five men at about 10 o'clock this morning was disrupted after the Police Strike Back team with the assistance of the Police Dog Unit intercepted and arrested the men.

The incident happened at the New World Supermarket in Rodwell in Suva when all the suspects, who are all in their 30's, were on their way to intercept the Supermarket bank run of $22,505 cash.

Acting on information received the Strike Back team mounted an operation with the assistance of the Police Dog Unit.

Two suspects were arrested inside the supermarket, one was arrested outside the supermarket inside a taxi he was driving that was to used as the getaway vehicle while two other suspects were arrested at Chang's place.

The suspects arrested are also implicated in other robberies in the Southern Division.

They are now in police custody.
