The Fiji Police Force has defended the use of government vehicles by some senior officers for getting picked up from home to work and then being dropped off in the afternoon.

Director Police Operations SSP Waisea Tabakau said the authorities should understand that police officers are on duty 24 hours and also work odd hours.

According to SSP Tabakau, some senior officers who do not have transport are getting picked up because they need to be at work on time and they do not see it as misuse of government vehicles.
