Forensic officers are still gathering evidence at a house in Yalalevu, Ba where the gruesome murder of a 26-year-old woman took place earlier this week.
A 32-year-old man allegedly killed his de‑facto wife following a domestic dispute.
The post mortem will be conducted today.
The incident was reported to Police by a friend of the suspect who he had allegedly asked to help dispose the victim's remains.
The suspect sustained burns when he was allegedly trying to burn the victim's body.
Chief of Intelligence and Investigations, ACP Luke Navela has confirmed to Fijivillage that the incident took place sometime between last Saturday to Tuesday.
Navela says the man is alleged to have kept the body of his de‑facto wife outside the house in a garbage bag.
The 32‑year‑old man is admitted in hospital.
