Police have been continually receiving reports of alleged assault and disputes in the last few days.

Director Operations, ACP Rusiate Tudravu said they are receiving around 10 cases per day which are liquor related.

He said most of the crimes that have been committed during this festive season are liquor related.

Meanwhile, a 33 year old farmer of Waisomo, Kadavu died on Wednesday morning after he was allegedly stabbed in the chest by a 25 year old man.

The two were drinking together and were involved in a fight when the suspect grabbed a kitchen knife and allegedly stabbed the 33 year old.

The suspect of Natumua village is now in police custody.
