A police constable is in critical condition at the CWM hospital after he was struck with a knife inside the Grantham Road Police post last night.
Samabula Police confirmed that the police officer was interviewing a woman when the incident took place.
It is alleged that while the officer was attending to the report, the suspect with another person who were under the influence of liquor were making noise outside the police post.
The officer warned the two.
It is then alleged that the suspect went to his house, got hold of a knife and returned to the police post where he allegedly struck the officer on the head.
The suspect is expected to be charged soon.
