More than 600 books have been seized by Lautoka Police Officers following a raid at the Lautoka based printing press last Friday for allegedly printing books breaching copyright issues.
Deputy Director Police Operations SP Erami Raibe confirmed that Police are guarding the premises and have questioned and interviewed one of the local partners, while the overseas partner is still on the run.
He added that they have enough evidence to proceed with the matter.
Suva Book shop, who has the exclusive copyright to sell certain text books, found out from members of the public that the same books were being sold by a company in Lautoka.
It is alleged that the books were being sold in Labasa.
A raid was carried out and copies of text books have been confiscated.
