Police have confirmed that they have concluded their investigations into the $5 million drug bust in Suva this week.

Assistant Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said upon the completion of their investigation only one person has been charged while the two others who were also arrested have been interviewed and released.

51 year old Wong Kem Lam charged with the importation of controlled chemical substance under the Illicit Drugs Act appeared in the Suva magistrates court on Friday.

No plea was taken but was remanded in custody as Prosecution objected to bail.

The case will be recalled on the 30th of this month.

$5 million worth of Contact NT which is used to manufacture the drug, methamphetamine was recovered from the Suva Wharf after a joint operation by National Intelligence Bureau and the Customs officers.

The Contact NT if it is processed, it has a street value of over $30 million.
