Police have charged a 40 year old woman who allegedly assaulted a Traffic Police Officer in Suva on Saturday.
The woman is charged with one count of assault and resisting arrest.
It is alleged the woman assaulted the Police Officer when the Officer wanted to book her for parking her vehicle in a non-parking zone. She is expected to appear in the Suva Magistrate Court later today.
Meanwhile, a Lautoka van driver has been admitted in hospital after he was allegedly assaulted and robbed by two unknown men at Saweni beach yesterday afternoon.
The two men hired the van from Lautoka city and upon reaching Saweni they allegedly assaulted the driver and walked away with his income in the van. Police later managed to locate the van off the road in Saweni.
