Navua Police have charged a 24 old farmer from Namosi for allegedly raping a 7 year old girl.
Navua Police confirm the farmer was arrested this morning and will appear in the Suva Magistrates later this afternoon.
The man is charged for a count each of rape and abduction with intent to rape.
It is alleged the 7 year girl old was sleeping with her 2 younger brothers and her elder sister when the man walked into the house, carried her 200 meters from the house and raped her.
The young girl's parents had gone to church and when they returned home at about midnight, they could not locate her.
The girl was found at about 3 o’clock in the morning.
