Police are awaiting the post mortem results of a 3 year old girl who is believed to have drowned in a drain in Tailevu yesterday.
The Assistant Police PRO, Corporal Josaia Weicavu said the girl was with her 4 year old sister when the incident occurred at Nabua Settlement in Waikete, Tailevu. Corporal Weicavu said the girl's father was at a nearby house while the two were alone at home.
The post mortem is expected to be conducted today and police are calling on parents and guardians to closely supervise their children and never to leave them alone to avoid such tragedy.
