Police have arrested some people who are believed to have been involved in the RB Patel Lautoka branch supermarket robbery on Sunday morning.

According to Divisonal Crime Officer Western, SP Vijay Singh some arrests were made, however he refused to say how many were arrested.

SP Singh said more arrests are expected to be made soon as Police investigations continue.

Singh said they are giving more prominence to this case as it deals with a large sum of money and arrests are expected to be made soon.

The eight involved in the $81,000 robbery hired a 7 seater van from Namaka and upon reaching Saweni, they tied the driver with cables and took off with the van.

Later in the morning they stormed into the shop with 5 toy guns and cane knives and demanded the shop manager of the weekend's takings, before fleeing.

Meanwhile, the van that was used in the robbery was found at Legalega, Nadi yesterday.
