Police apprehends 8 suspects
Assistant Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Suliano Tevita confirms that the eight men were arrested from Nasinu last night and from different locations.
The arrest was a joint effort by Police and the officers of the Crimes Pro Active Unit.
The eight armed with pinch bars and cane knives allegedly entered Praveens Kava shop on Tuesday and stole cash and assorted items worth thousands of dollars.
On Monday four men allegedly robbed New World Supermarket Narere branch and stole more than $29,000 cash.
After the robbery they fled in a Honda CRV registration EZ 172 which was stolen hours before the robbery from Moti street.
The four allegedly threatened a couple and stole items worth $15,000 and drove away in their family vehicle.
Robbers then used a fake number plate registration EZ 294, then used it as a getaway vehicle.
The vehicle was found abandoned at Mandir Street Nakasi.
None of the stolen items have been recovered.
