Police Officers from Ba and Rakiraki arrive in Tavua this morning to assist Tavua Police with investigations into the murder of a shopkeeper during a robbery on Friday afternoon.

Tavua Police confirms that a team of 20 officers are currently working on the case, however there are instructions that additional man power be assigned to track down those responsible.

Police confirm that the shopkeeper was closing his business when the suspects stormed into his shop, assaulted him with a heavy object and left him unconscious at the scene of the crime. They escaped in the victim's sister's car.

The victim was taken to Tavua hospital however he was pronounced dead on arrival.
