Police have warned the members of the public to refrain from assaulting officers while they are carrying out their duty.
This comes after a number of police officers were bashed up by members of the public during this festive season.
Deputy Director, Police Operations, SP Erami Raibe has confirmed that anyone found assaulting officers will be dealt with severely.
He said officers are there to protect law and to provide security to people and they should be respected for that.
