CID officers from Suva and Sigatoka with the assistance of Nukubalavu villagers of Navosa uprooted more than 200 marijuana plants yesterday.
Police said they still are looking for the owner who is not known to police.
Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni yesterday was briefed on the operation by CID officers and drug operations are expected to be increased before the year ends.
It is expected that investigators from the Major Drug Unit will join the operation and any farmer or dealer caught with the drugs will have his or her property and belongings confiscated by police.
