Police are trying to determine the cause of death of a 48-year-old man whose body was found floating in a creek in Qelemumu, Labasa, yesterday.
Divisional Crime Officer Northern ASP Luke Rawalai said police believe the deceased was returning from a religious function on Sunday night after crossing the creek when he was swept away by strong currents. No visible injuries were found on his body.
His post mortem is expected to be conducted later today.
Meanwhile, police are also investigating the discovery of the body of a 55-year-old farmer of Navulokani, Naitasiri, yesterday. He was found dead in his plantation.
