Police are expected to start a new campaign of twenty four hours police presence on the Nadi back road following a number of fatal accidents on that road this year.
Divisional Traffic Officer Western ASP Richard Raju said many accidents have occurred due to the carelessness of motorists.
Raju added initial investigations have shown that the fatal accident which occurred last night was caused by carelessness of the 21 year old businessman who was speeding and overtook two vehicles when he lost control and hit a cane truck laden with cane.
The businessman who was alone in his car died instantly.
