Police are expected to question some former cabinet ministers in the Soqosoqo Duavata Ni Lewenivanua (SDL) government following the complaints they lodged at the Raiwaqa Police Station.

Police have confirmed they will take in some former cabinet ministers for questioning for allegedly trying to interfere with the court case file by ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase against Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama.

Last night in a statement, Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni said the action taken by some SDL members is clearly an abuse of process in interfering with the court case.

He also said the SDL party has to some extent used their capacity as a political party to sway decisions that solely must be made by the court without any interference.

The Commissioner went on to say that the SDL party has used this opportunity to air out an issue that would instigate instability and under no circumstances he would fail to execute the fullest of the law to prevent instability.
