Lautoka police are expected to take in a national 15s player for questioning today in relation to an assault case.

Divisional Police Commander Western SSP Fesaitu Kava had confirmed that a report was lodged against the Flying Fijians player on Saturday after Fiji lost to New Zealand Maori at Churchill Park.

It is alleged that the national 15s rugby player assaulted a 17 year old rugby fan while he was trying to open his bag.

SSP Kava said the player may be taken in for questioning today.

When questioned by Fijivillage on the newly adopted No Drop Policy rule for assault cases and why the player was not taken into custody after the report, SSP Kava said he will be in a better position to comment later today.
