Police will be taking action if BBQ stalls are erected on footpaths in Laucala Bay outside the Vodafone Arena.
The Director Traffic Ramend Raju said he has spoken to the Director Health Suva City Council and his superiors, about the matter and police will closely monitor the situation.
Meanwhile, SCC's Director Administration Eroni Ratukalou admitted that the markings were done on the footpath by the health workers however he confirmed that stalls will not be erected on the footpath.
The SCC Director Health Services, Nacanieli Kotoiwasawasa confirmed yesteray that they issued the permit for the BBQ stalls after people approached them that they wanted to sell BBQ along the roadside. He also said that frequent health inspections will be carried out to see that hygiene is maintained at all times.
