Ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase said the Police Force should follow the law and follow no directive from anyone if it breaches people's rights or breaks the law.
This is after Police PRO Ema Mua confirmed that the directive given last year by the former Director CID Waisea Vakamocea still stands and this directive was to all police stations around the country not to investigate members of any disciplined forces, and that any complaint to be referred to the force in question.
The National Federation Party General Secretary Pramod Rae added these police actions really show who they answer to.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Women's Crisis Centre Acting Coordinator, Edwina Kotoisuva said this is a violation of rights.
The Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni and Interim Defense Minister Ratu Epeli Ganilau have opted to stay silent on the directive.
